My name is Jarrod Thompson. I am a passionate gardener and outdoorsman with a background in horticulture and many years of experience in the landscape industry. I have a bachelor’s degree in Ecological Landscape Design from the University of Vermont and founded my own business to offer ecologically-friendly garden care to the Upper Valley.
Natural Garden Design is a company that sprung up from my curiosity for wildlife, ecology, and the natural world. I look to nature for inspiration and find that paying close attention to the surrounding landscape can give insight into what might be appropriate for your garden. Each site has a unique character and through careful observation, these characteristics can be accentuated to improve, rethink, or create a new, lasting, and inspiring garden space.

I tailor my services to the needs of each client. This can include weeding, pruning, edging, deadheading, cutbacks, division, fertilizing, mulching, and disease/pest management. I do all that I can to support wildlife and biodiversity. My goal is always to have a sustainable and low-maintenance planting, and sometimes this involves thoughtful additions or removals to ensure long-term stability.
